I Kraftwerk possono essere a buon titolo considerati i “i padri di tutte le musiche elettroniche” (magari insieme ai Tangerine Dreams…) da 40 anni a questa parte…
Il gruppo, di origine tedesca, formatosi a Dusseldorf nel 1970, era già un pò conoscituo in certi ambienti, ma questi strani musicisti che si muovevano come robots e che “emettevano” strani suoni sarebbero stati i precursori di una moltitudine di genere musicali. Non a caso Il MOMA ( Museum Of Modern Arts) di New York dedica a loro in questi giorni la prima “esposizione vivente” delle loro storia.
Nel 1978 vivevo a Londra e, conoscendoli, non potevo perdere la loro esibizione di “Authoban” e “Trans Europe Express” alla mitica Roundhouse. Certamente un mito musicale.

In 1978 I was living in London and, knowing them, I would not miss their performance of di “Authoban” and “Trans Europe Express” at the legendary Roundhouse. Certainly a musical myth.

Pink Floyd, il più grande gruppo musicale di tutti i tempi (si sono formati nel 1965 a Cambridge, in Inghilterra ed erano considerati al tempo una band progressive di rock inglese e ancora prima una band psichedelica guidata da Syd Barrett) era lì.
Dietro gli ingressi dell’Empire… e Rita ed io non avevamo i biglietti. Era il 16 Novembre 1974
Abbiamo dovuto comprarli da “bagarrini” e finalmente abbiamo potuto entrare.
Il concerto è iniziato alle ore 9.00 in punto (una cosa che anche i concerti di oggi, in Italia, anche se l’inizio è previsto per le 9 va già bene se iniziano alle 9.45 o alle 10… )
Mi ricordo ancora oggi quanto sia stato sorprendente (per allora) lo spettacolo: le luci erano fantastiche, la musica sensazionale. Un vera esperienza visiva e sensoriale.

We had to buy them from “bagarrini” and we could finally enter.
The concert started at 9.00 sharp (a thing that even today concerts, in Italy the group have not learn yet… if it is scheduled for 9 o’ clock.. it is good if they start at 9.45 or ten…)
I remember still today how amazing was the show, the lights were fantastic, the music mermerizing. A true over-the-top visual experience.
