Photographs of my backpack trek days (in 1996), along the Italian side of the Tour du Mont Blanc. This itinerary was is almost a “must” for every walker/hiker/trekker for the vision of unique landscapes and unforgettable moments that will remain forever.
Fotografie delle mie giornate di trekking (nel 1996), lungo il lato italiano del Tour du Mont Blanc. Questo itinerario è una tappa quasi “obbligata” per ogni camminatore/escursionista/trekker. Ma forse è meglio dire “necessaria” per la visione di paesaggi unici ed emozioni indimenticabili che rimarranno per sempre.

Crêuza de mä vuol dire, generalmente in ligure, stradina stretta che porta al mare. Queste stradine (nella fotografia una della costa del Golfo Paradiso lungo una delle Passeggiate a Levante), o vicoletti, o viuzze sono diffusissime in tutte le cittadine e i paesini della costa ligure. Spesso ripide si percorrono in genere a fianco di case dipinte in modo colorato “alla ligure” e portano, in molti casi, in non molti minuti a piedi dal mare ai monti superando anche dislivellli elevati.
Il nome è anche il titolo di un famoso disco dell’indimenticabile cantautore Fabrizio de André che contrariamente alle aspettative dei critici che pensavano non avrebbe avuto un buon riscontro in quanto in lingua dialettale ligure, ebbe invece un grande successo diventando una pietra miliare musicale e la prestigiosa rivista Rolling Stone lo ha messo al 4o posto della classifica dei migliori 100 album italiani.

Creuza de mä means, generally in Liguria, narrow road leading to the sea. These narrow streets (in the photo one in the Paradise Gulf along one of the itineraries along Eastern Liguria walkings&hikes) or alleys, are widespread in all the towns and villages along the Ligurian coast. Often you travel generally steep side of houses painted in the typical “Ligurian color” and lead, in many cases, in a not many minutes walk from the sea to the mountains path and tops.
The name is also the title of a famous record of the unforgettable singer and song writer Fabrizio de André which contrary to the expectations of critics who thought it wold not have a good response been all in the Ligurian dialect, become instead a great success and a milestone in Italian music and the prestigious Rolling Stone magazine has placed fourth in the rankings of the top 100 Italian albums.
La Via dei Forti di Genova e l’Antica Muraglia Genovese
Alle spalle della città di Genova sono stati costruiti dei giganti di pietra: sono i forti, alcuni dei quali di dimensioni imponenti.
Alcuni itinerari delle passeggiate portano della citta di Genova portano in poco tempo sulle alture circostanti e sulla serie di fortificazioni (che si estendono dalla Crocetta di Sampierdarena al forte San Giuliano in Albaro…) a protezione della città; tra queste ci sono i forti di S Giuliano, Diamante, Tenaglia, Begato, Sperone, Fratello Minore, Fratello maggiore, Puin, Richelieu, Ratti etc…)… Alcune risalgono ai tempi della Serenissima Repubblica di Genova e portano su balconi panoramici opposti, dai quali si può ammirare la città dall’alto, il panorama sui monti e sulla costa di Genova e del suo golfo, con interessanti rilevanze di tipo naturalistico, storico, sportivo, geologico etc….
Il complesso fortificato, costruito nella forma attuale tra il XVIII e il XIX secolo, rappresentava – con i suoi 16 e 19 km di cinta muraria – uno dei sistemi fortilizi più vasti d’Europa ed è un percorso che poche città permettono di fare anche dall’alto.
In breve tempo ci si trova in un mondo diverso dal caos del traffico e dove l’unico rumore è quello del vento che soffia tra i meandri delle mura di questi forti carichi di storie interessanti e suggestive. Per chi le voglia ascoltare. (estratto dal libro “Passeggiate Levante” di Enrico Pelos)

The Fortresses of Genoa and the ancient Genoise Great Wall
Behind the city of Genoa were built of stone giants : they are the fortresses, some of them of huge dimensions.
Some itineraries from the city of Genoa lead in a short time to the surrounding hills and around the series of fortifications (which stretch from Crocetta in Sampierdarena to Fort St. Julian of Albaro …) built to protect the city and among these there are fortresse of S. Julian, Diamond, Tenaglia , Begato, Sperone, Younger Brother, Elder Brother, Puin, Richelieu, Ratti etc … ) … Some date back to the times of the Serenissima Republic of Genoa and take to panoramic balconies views to the opposite sides, from which you can admire the city from the top of the mountains, the coast of Genoa and its Gulf, with interesting naturalistic , historical , sportswear , geological relevances etc ….
The fortification was built in its present form between the eighteenth and nineteenth century, represented – with its 16 and 19 km of walls – one of the largest forts systems of Europe and is a path that only few cities can allow to be carried out from the above.
Soon you find yourself in a different world from the chaos of traffic and where the only sound is the wind blowing through the meanders of the walls of these ancient fortresses with many interesting and fascinating stories. I Kraftwerk possono essere a buon titolo considerati i “i padri di tutte le musiche elettroniche” (magari insieme ai Tangerine Dreams…) da 40 anni a questa parte…
Il gruppo, di origine tedesca, formatosi a Dusseldorf nel 1970, era già un pò conoscituo in certi ambienti, ma questi strani musicisti che si muovevano come robots e che “emettevano” strani suoni sarebbero stati i precursori di una moltitudine di genere musicali. Non a caso Il MOMA ( Museum Of Modern Arts) di New York dedica a loro in questi giorni la prima “esposizione vivente” delle loro storia.
Nel 1976 vivevo a Londra e, conoscendoli, non potevo perdere la loro esibizione di “Authoban” e “Trans Europe Express” alla mitica Roundhouse. Certamente un mito musicale.

…In this quote there are proofs that Kraftwerk at least used one slide during this concert in september 1975 in the Uk. But since the texts is somewhat vague you could also read it as if they showed different static slides during the concert. So maybe Kraftwerk started using the slides first when they came back to Europe after the American tour or perhaps even on some of the concerts on the American tour.

Lungo l’escursione che parte da Moneglia, si passa a fianco, e merita la sosta anche perchè c’è una fontanella, della chiesa di S. M Assunta, parrocchia dal 1413, con la bella facciata nel tipico stile romanico ligure in pietra e a righe alternate di marmo e ardesia o riproducenti tale combinazione. Sul soffitto un elaborato affresco policromo. Da questa frazione c’è uno splendido panorama sulla baia di Moneglia e i monti circostanti. Si prosegue e uscendo dalla frazione si entra nel boscaglia in prevalenza composta da querce, lecci, macchia mediterranea con corbezzioli e si arriva su punti panoramici con vista su tutto il Golfo di Moneglia e verso Punta Baffe. Arrivati sulla parte sommitale si prosegue su tratti, che costeggiano un alto precipizio con vista a strapiombo sul mare o all’interno della vegetazione e si scende verso Deiva.
Along the hiking, starting from Moneglia, you pass near, and it is worth the stop also because there is a fountain, the church of S. M Assunta, parish since 1413, with the beautiful facade in the typical Ligurian Romanesque style in stone with alternating rows of marble and slate or reproducing such a combination. From this fraction there is a splendid view over the bay and surrounding mountains of Moneglia. The walk continues exiting the village and entering in the bush mainly composed of oaks, holm oaks, typical Mediterranean vegetatio with corbezzioli to arrive to a panoramic points with views across the Gulf of Moneglia and towards Punta Baffe. Arrived at the summit the hike continues on a path over a high cliff with views overlooking the sea or within the vegetation towards Deiva.
