LUOGHI ABBANDONATI – ABANDONED PLACES – FORTE FRATELLO MINORE 03 (622 m s.l.m.) Il Forte Fratello Minore è stato costruito tra il 1816 e il 1830. E’ Situato sulla cima del monte Spino e di fronte al monte dove un tempo c’era il Forte Fratello Maggiore. Nel 1800 la zona fu teatro di scontri tra genovesi e francesi contro gli austriaci insediati sul Forte Diamante e, narrano le cronache, che in uno degli scontri venne ferito il poeta Ugo Foscolo.

Fratello Minore (Younger Brother) Fort was built between 1816 and 1830. It is situated on top of Mount Spino and in front of the mountain where there was once the Forte Fratello Maggiore (Elder Brother). In 1800 the area was a battlefield between Genoa and the French army against the Austrian army settled on Fort Diamante and the chronicles tell that in one of the battles here was wounded the famous Italian poet Ugo Foscolo. – See more at:
