Passeggiate a Levante – PASSEGGIATA ANITA GARIBALDI di GENOVA-NERVI (Ita/Eng)

La passeggiata, dedicata ad Anita Garibaldi, è nota con il nome di “Passeggiata di Nervi”. Essa è un importante luogo turistico di Genova che vanta, anche in inverno, un clima quasi sempre mite. Si svolge lungo un percorso particolare e unico, costruito in gran parte sulle rocce della scogliera a picco sul mare, e permette un rilassante e facile itinerario immersi nella natura, nel paesaggio. Si arrivare anche in treno e si cammina fino alla stazione di Sant’Ilario, resa celebre da una famosa canzone del grande cantautore genovese Fabrizio de André.

The walk is dedicated to Anita Garibaldi but is commonly known as the “Nervi walk”. It is an important tourist spot of Genoa where even in winter time the climate is almost always quite mild. It is built along a particular and unique rocks cliff formation and it allows a relaxing and easy route immersed in the nature and in the landscape. You can arrive there also by train and to walk to the station of Sant’Ilario, which was made famous by a song by Fabrizio de André the great Genoese singer-songwriter.

“Al mio ragazzo era sempre piaciuto il cosiddetto Krautrock. Così era chiamata dalla stampa e critica angloamericana la scena musicale,costituita dai gruppi attivi in Germania negli anni ‘70. E così mi
raccontò di coloro che producevano in varia misura forme musicali nuove sulla base del rock progressivo o della musica elettronica tedesca (ad esempio Karlheinz Stockhausen) dei decenni precedenti. La definizione comprendeva gruppi spesso diversi tra loro, che spaziava dallo sperimentalismo alle influenze cosmiche dei Tangerine Dream e dei Cluster, alle anticipazioni di New Age degli Ash Ra Temple e dei Popol Vuh, ai “precursori” techno Kraftwerk fino al rock apocalittico degli Amon Düül. Alcuni componenti come Klaus Schulze furono tra i più
importanti innovatori di questa straordinaria “new wave”… Piuttosto perplessa all’ascolto di questa musica, ero curiosa di ascoltarla dal vivo quando prendemmo i biglietti per il concerto dei Tangerine Dream, il 26 ottobre; infatti il gruppo nell’autunno fece un tour di tre settimane. LUOGHI ABBANDONATI – ABANDONED PLACES

In fondo, a volte, non occorre andare poi così lontano sui monti o in mezzo ai boschi per trovare luoghi o paesi abbandonati. Anche le città in cui viviamo ne sono piene, basta guardarsi intorno e magari si trovano a pochi passi da noi. Ecco un altro esempio: la Palazzina Liberty di Scalinata Borghese di Genova, passaggio tra i quartieri della Foce e Albaro.
Questa palazzina fu costruita ai primi del novecento per l’ “Accademia di Belle Arti” che però non vi fu mai insediata. E’ dedicata a Giorgio Borghese, un genovese diventato, come riportato sulla targa di marmo, “Primo Cittadino di Montevideo”. Nel corso degli anni fu poi, tra le altre cose, un poliambulatorio, una palestra, un gattile, e infine saltuariamente sede di qualche evento culturale e/o mondano.
Essa è abbandonata da molti anni… speriamo che, dato l’importante valore storico, la Soprintendenza ai Beni Architettonici la destini un giorno alla fruizione pubblica…

Sometimes, there is no need to go far away up in the mountains or in the middle of a wood to find abandoned villages or places. The cities where we all live are full of examples, just have a look around and maybe you are just few steps away from one of them. Here is another example: the Art Nouveau building of Borghese Stairway in Genoa, between the Foce and Albaro districts.
This building was built in the early twentieth century for the ‘Academy of Fine Arts” but it was never established. It is dedicated to Giorgio Borghese, a Genoese which became, as reported on the marble plaque, “First Citizen of Montevideo”. Over the years it was then, among the other things, a health center, a gym, a cattery, and then occasionally the place for some cultural and/or mundane events.
The buiding has been abandoned for many years … we hope that, being of great historical value, the National Architectural Heritage decides one day for public use…
