Luoghi (Ex)Abbandonati – FORTE BATTERIA CHIODO 1 a Montemarcello

Oggi vi porto a vedere un luogo che è stato abbandonato per molti decenni e che adesso, grazie ad un bell’intervento di restauro da parte di enti istituzionali, appartiene da poche settimane all’elenco degli “ex” Luoghi Abbandonati.
Si tratta del Forte Batteria Chiodo, realizzato intorno al 1900 e intitolato al Gen. Domenico Chiodo (Genova 1823 – La Spezia 1870), progettista dell’arsenale di La Spezia, il più moderno della Regia Marina.
E’ situato sulla sommità del promontorio di Punta Corvo, nel parco di Montemarcello, meta di sentieri e itinerari che portano in alcuni dei posti più belli della Liguria.
Il recupero è avvenuto nel rispetto delle caratteristiche dell’impianto fortificato in generale ed adeguato alle norme di ricettività turistico-ambientale più avanzate.
Un’ala è rimasta come l’impianto storico antico con pannelli illustrativi e l’altra è stata adibita per la ricezione turistica a gestione privata di persone con notevole esperienza in questo settore.
Essa è dotata di centro multimediale ed è un bell’esempio di recupero che dovrebbe essere seguito a breve per altri forti della Liguria.

Today I am taking you to see a place that has been abandoned for many decades and now, thanks to a restoration by institutional bodies, it belongs now to the list of “former” Abandoned Places for a few weeks.
This is the Fort Chiodo, built around 1900 and named after Gen. Domenico Chiodo (Genoa 1823 – La Spezia 1870), the designer of the arsenal of La Spezia, the most modern of the old Italian Royal Navy.
It’s located on the promontory of Punta Corvo in the Park of Monte Marcello and it is placed at the centre of many paths and trails that lead to some of the most beautiful places of Liguria.
