Avendo vissuto e lavorato in Gran Bretagna per alcuni anni, proprio durante le celebrazioni di uno dei suoi jubilee, siamo stati veramente rattristati appena saputa la notizia. Giornata triste ed è come se ne andasse un po’ della nostra storia in Inghilterra in un certo senso…

Having lived and worked in Great Britain for a few years, during the celebrations of one of her jubilees, we were truly saddened as soon as we heard the news. Very sad day for all the British people and all those who love England and it’s like a bit of our history there is going away in a way.

Luoghi (ex) Abbandonati VILLA SERRA DI COMAGO

Questa villa, in stile inglese Tudor, venne costruita dopo un viaggio a Londra nel 1851, dal marchese Carlo Cusani e dal marchese Orso Serra. I lavori, sul fondovale del Rio Comago, durarono circa dieci anni.
Oggi grazie al collaborativo accordo fra i diversi comuni interessati la villa è stata ristrutturata e con il suo parco è diventata uno dei posti più belli e interessanti aperti al pubblico appena fuori la città di Genova, con prati all’inglese, laghetti e cascatelle, cigni e ortensie, abeti rossi ed olmi e molte altri fiori e piante.
Ma ci fu un tempo, che per molti anni la villa fu un luogo abbandonato ed ecco alcune foto di com’era…

This villa, in the English Tudor style, was built after a trip to London by the Marquis Carlo Cusani in 1851, and by the Marquis Orso Serra. The work, in the valley of the Comago river, lasted about ten years.
Today, thanks to the collaborative agreement between the different municipalities concerned, the villa has been renovated and with its park has become one of the most beautiful and interesting places open to the public just outside the city of Genoa, with lawns, ponds and waterfalls, swans and hydrangeas, spruce and elm and many other flowers and plants.
But there was a time which for many years the house was an abandoned place and here are some photos about how it was …
