Liguria Luoghi Abbandonati SEMAFORO di PUNTA MESCO Nella 43a “Passeggiata a Levante” “Da LEVANTO a MONTEROSSO Passando da S. Antonio e la lunga scalinata” quando ormai siamo appena sopra Monterosso una deviazione ci porta all’area dove sorgono i ruderi dell’antica eremo di S. Antonio. Se si prosegue per alcune decine di metri si arriva alle costruzioni del Semaforo del promontorio di Punta Mesco. Esso era un vecchio faro segnaletico della Marina Militare e da qui il panorama è veramente grandioso e forse uno dei più belli della Liguria se non il più bello. Nelle giornate limpide si vedono le 5 Terre e Portovenere con l’isola Palmaria, e poi la Corsica e l’Elba.
Il manufatto costruito oltre due decenni fa è ridotto in stato di abbandono ma ci sono in corso, a periodi alterni, progetti di acquisizione (FAI) e/o riqualificazione che dovrebbero portare ad usufruire del posto come rifugio, punto di accoglienza , bar etc. dato che in poco tempo si può raggiungere Monterosso con la prosecuzione dal sentiero principale ed una ripida scalinata sul percorso dell’antica mulattiera costruita dai genieri tedeschi nell’ultima guerra (attenzione … non è proprio semplice, se anche lo scrittore Maurizio Maggiani che è nativo di un luogo poco lontano da qui e che conosce bene, si è sentito di scrivere “Lo spirito del mulo sia con voi”…) e ideale prova per molti escursionisti, runners e turisti che porta in 30/45 minuti dal dislivello di 320 m di altezza alla spiaggia sottostante.

In the 43rd Passeggiata “From Levanto to Monterosso Going from St. Anthony and the long staircase” when we are now just above Monterosso a path on he right brings us to the area where are the ruins of the ancient hermitage of S. Antonio. If you then go to a few tens of meters further you arrive at the construction of the light of the promontory of Punta Mesco. It was an old lighthouse signaling the Italian Navy and from here the view is really great and perhaps one of the most beautiful if not the most beautiful in the Italian Riviera. On a clear day you can see the 5 Terre, Portovenere, Palmaria Island, and then to Corsica and Elba.
The structure built over two decades ago fell into disrepair but there are ongoing projects which should lead to use the place as a refuge, a reception area, bar, ect. as in a short time you can reach Monterosso with from the main path and a number of steep steps along the route of the trail built by German army in the last war and an ideal test for many walkers, runners and tourists who in 30/45 minutes can go feel the difference from 320 m height to the beach underneath at the sea level.

PASSEGGIATE A LEVANTE Case Lovara tra Levanto e Monterosso alle porte delle Cinque Terre

Case Lovara è una piccola frazione lungo l’escursione che da Levanto porta a Monterosso. Alle porte delle Cinque Terre. Sicuramente, a mio parere, uno dei percorsi più belli e interessanti tra le Passeggiate a Levante.
In una delle case, tra quelle abbandonate da molti anni, c’era un proprietario che organizzava un semplice punto di ristoro, in estate, con la possibilità di consumare, seduti su tavoli e panche in legno, acqua e limone rinfrescante e qualche bicchierino di vino o sciaccetrà. Offriva anche riparo in caso di pioggia, temporali e altre necessità nel lungo tratto – a un’ora di distanza circa in entrambe le direzioni – in mezzo ai boschi e alla macchia mediterranea spesso non molto distante dal mare.
Tutta l’area è stata donata al FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano), insieme a molti dei terreni circostanti, ed é stata oggetto in questi giorni di un accordo di recupero a livello regionale che dovrebbe portare beneficio con possibilità di sviluppo agrorurale ecocompatibile tra i molti terrazzamenti, parzialmente coltivati a vite e ulivo, perchè il luogo ancora quasi “selvaggio” fino alla Punta del Mesco sopra Monterosso e’ l’ideale per chi volesse “vivere” e “integrarsi” in un ambiente di rara bellezza.

Case Lovara is a small village along the hike from Monterosso to Levanto. At the gateway to the Cinque Terre. Certainly, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful and interesting path of Eastern Liguria.
In one of the houses, among those abandoned for many years, there was an owner who organized a simple refreshment in the summer, with the possibility of eating, sitting on tables and wooden benches, water and lemon juice and a few glasses of refreshing wine or sciacchetrà. Also offered shelter in case of rain, thunderstorms and other needs during the long stretch – about an hour away in either direction – in the woods often not far from the sea.
The whole area was donated to the FAI (Italian Environment Fund), along with many of the surrounding land, and has been the subject of an agreement, in these days, of recovery at regional level for which it therel will be the possibility of developing an environmentally safe agricultural among the many terraces, partially cultivated with olives and vineyards, because the place has an almost “wild” scenery up to Punta del Mesco above Monterosso and ‘ideal place” for those who want to “live” and “integrate” in an environment of rare beauty.
