La Festa della Transumanza e’ una delle feste piu’ tipiche della Liguria montana e celebra il rito dell’accompagnamento degli animali da pascolo dai bei prati estivi in quota ai rifugi in zone a clima piu’ mite per l’avvvicinarsi della stagione fredda a causa della quale soffrirebbero sia gli animali che gli allevatori. A Mendatica, nell’Alta Valle Arroscia, si celebra questa ricorrenza, vecchia di secoli, ogni anno con un bel corteo con i costumi tipici delle malghe, feste e la gastronomia della cucina bianca.

The Festival of the Transhumance is one of the most typical of Liguria mountain festivals and celebrates the rite of the accompaniment of the animals from the beautiful summer meadows in to the shelters in areas with milder climate as the cold season is about to come and because of which suffer both animals and farmers. In Mendatica, in the upper Arroscia Valley, we celebrate this anniversary, centuries old, each year with a nice parade with costumes typical of the alpine pastures, festivals and gastronomy of the white kitchen.
