La giornata è brutta e allora in questa festa del 1o Maggio andiamo a farci un giretto virtuale (nell’attesa di una riapertura, che tutti vogliamo sperare certa) con alla guida un lavoratore tra i tanti protagonisti che hanno contribuito a rendere famoso questo trenino…

La “Ferrovia Genova Casella” è un mezzo di trasporto “alternativo” caro a molti genovesi e turisti liguri perchè, con la sua comoda stazione principale nel centro di Genova e con le sue stazioni, ponti e viadotti, è meta di partenza di tante passeggiate, escursioni e trekking. Esse sono a volte semplicemente nel verde della campagna per una gita e pranzo a S. Olcese o a Casella con gli amici ma altre in luoghi anche importanti e storici dell’entroterra genovese come ad esempio i Forti di Genova, l’Acquedotto Storico di Genova, il rifugio di Ciaè e in tratti su tappe dell’Alta Via dei Monti Liguri.
La ferrovia è meglio conosciuta come “Il trenino di Casella” ed è uno dei rari esempi di antica ferrovia a scartamento ridotto italiana, essendo entrata in servizio nel 1929.
Èssa è lunga poco più di 24 km e, negli anni, ha funzionato a fasi spesso alternate a periodi di inattività per motivi diversi, e proprio in questo periodo è inattiva per adeguamenti tecnico-normativi e a causa di alcune frane. Si spera ritorni presto in servizio…

The “Genoa Casella Railway” is a means of transport very loved by many Genoese and Ligurian tourists because, with its convenient main station in the center of Genoa and its stations, bridges and viaducts, is the destination of the departure of many walks, hikes, excursions and trekkings. They are sometimes simple hikes in the countryside just for a salami snack or lunch at St. Olcese or Casella with friends but also in historical and very important places of the Genoese hinterland such as the Forts of Genoa, the Historical Aqueduct of Genoa, the Ciaè hamlet, and some itineraries along the Liguria Mountains High Way trail.
The railroad is better known as “The small Casella train” and is one of the rare examples of ancient narrow gauge type Italian railways being put into service in 1929.
It is just over 24 km long and, over the years, it worked alternatively with periods of inactivity for different reasons and at this time it is inactive for technical improvements also due to new Italian rules and regulations and also because of some landslides. We really hope it will return in service again very soon…

Passeggiate a Levante – LAGO DI GIACOPIANE VALLE STURLA PARCO DELL’AVETO ALTA VIA DEI MONTI LIGURI

Il lago di Giacopiane è situato nel territorio del comune di Borzonasca, in Valle Sturla, nel Parco dell’Aveto ed è inserito in un contesto paesaggistico di grande pregio. Esso è situato in un pianoro su un terreno di importante interesse geologico circondato da foreste di faggi, boschi di castagno, terrazzamenti agricoli a fasce. Dalle passeggiate ed escursioni dai monti dell’Alta Via dei Monti Liguria e dai monti circostanti e nelle giornate giornate limpide, il panorama spazia su gran parte della Liguria di Levante in Corsica.

The Giacopiane lake  is located in the territory of the municipality of Borzonasca, in the Sturla Valley, in the Aveto Park, and has landscapes of great value. It is located on a plateau of great geological interest, surrounded by forests of beech, chestnut and agricultural terraces lands. From walks and excursions from the mountains of and around the Liguria Mountains High Way trail there are great panorama views of the Eastern Liguria and up to Corsica island.

Antiche vestigia, raccontano a volte di un passato fatto di storia contadina e di vita dura sui monti liguri… altre di importanti personaggi che sono passati… ed ora i rami lunghi e sottili degli alberi scossi dal vento avviluppano quel che rimane in un abbraccio, quasi a nasconderli per preservarli… nell’oblio…

Ancient ruins, tell us of a past history made by peasants and their hard life on the Ligurian mountains … or when important figures have passed around … and now the trees long branches shaken by the wind envelop what remains in an embrace, as if to hide them to preserve them all … for the oblivion …

Passeggiate a Levante – ALBA SUL MONTE DI PORTOFINO E SUL GOLFO PARADISO (Ita/Eng)

Una visione d’insieme del monte di Portofino e del Golfo Paradiso ripresa all’alba da uno dei monti che fanno da corona al risveglio del Golfo e dei sui abitanti.

Il Monte di Portofino è uno dei luoghi più belli della Liguria di Levante. Da qui partono molti sentieri per passeggiate e mete turistiche.
Le località di Camogli, San Rocco, Recco, Sori, Pieve Ligure e Bogliasco sono lungo il Golfo Paradiso e meta di partenze per escursioni sia lungo la costa che sulle alture dei monti che le circondano, come ad essempio:

The Monte di Portofino is one of the most beautiful places in eastern Liguria. From here you can have many hiking trails and tourist destinations.
