KRAFTWERK Florian Schneider, uno dei fondatori, se n’è andato.
Ricordo come fosse ieri la prima volta che li vedemmo alla Roundhouse di Londra.
Una musica indefinita (a quel tempo) la loro ma che affascinava e ti ipnotizzava. Mitici il loro Autobahn (1974) e Trans Europe Express (1976) con il quale si viaggiava sia in realtà che con la fantasia. Sia in autostop che in treno, quando ancora si poteva viaggiare e trovare amici con poche lire in tasca e le frontiere erano aperte più di oggi.
Schneider era uno dei due cantanti ed un polistrumentista: suonava il sintetizzatore, il vocoder, il flauto, il sax ed altri strumenti.
Dal vivo, il loro concerto era già allora uno show multimediale con computer e tecnologie digitali con suoni ed effetti visivi sempre raffinati e belli. Lo show, seppur con una sorta di futurismo retrò con abiti antracite, camicie rosse e cravatte nere e capelli che parevano brillantinati ti trasportava in una sorta di mix futur-vintage
Avevano già programmato di tornare in Italia per celebrare il 50° anniversario della loro arte musical-tecnologica.

KRAFTWERK Florian Schneider, one of the founders, has left.
I remember how it was yesterday the first time we saw them at the Roundhouse in London.
Their music was indefinite (at that time) but of the kind that left fascinated and hypnotized. Their Autobahn (1974) and Trans Europe Express (1976) were legendary, with which you could travel both in reality and with the fantasy. Both by hitchhiking and by train at tehat time you could still travel and find friends with a few lire in your pocket and the borders were open more than today.
Schneider was one of the two singers and a multi-instrumentalist: he played the synthesizer, the vocoder, the flute, the sax and other instruments.
Live, their concert was already then a multimedia show with computers and digital technologies with always refined and beautiful sounds and visual effects. The show, albeit with a sort of retro futurism with anthracite clothes, red shirts and black ties and hair that looked like glitter, transported you into a sort of future-vintage mix
They had already planned to return to Italy to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their musical-technological art.

“…A novembre fu la volta dei Pink Floyd! Si trattava del British Winter Tour del 1974 al Wembley Empire Pool. Come resistere ad una simile occasione? All’epoca, e negli anni precedenti, ascoltavamo soprattutto questa musica così innovativa e non stavamo più in noi dalla gioia di ascoltarli live. Prendemmo il biglietto come al solito, spedendo le sterline nella busta e ricevendoli quasi subito i (la Royal Mail funzionava anche in mezza giornata). Sul biglietto da noi conservato, leggo Row 0, seat 18, ed era la seconda entrata, di sopra in galleria, comunque si vedeva ed ascoltava benissimo. Fin dal percorso in metropolitana notavo la differenza tra il pubblico dei vari concerti: questi dei Pink Floyd erano per la maggior parte silenziosi e calmi. Nessuno aveva più di 30 anni ed il capello lungo e l’abbigliamento pittoresco erano d’ordinanza….”

“… In November it was the turn of Pink Floyd! It was the British Winter Tour 1974 at the Wembley Empire Pool. How to resist such an opportunity? … We took the ticket as usual, sending the money in the envelope and receiving them almost immediately (the Royal Mail worked in half a day). The tcket we kept was for Row 0, seat 18, and was the second entrance, upstairs in the gallery, however, could be seen and listened very well. From the walk on the subway I noticed the difference in the audience of the various concerts: these Pink Floyd guys were for the most part silent and calm. No one had 30 years and the long hair and colorful clothes were to be the fashion of those times …. ”

Un pezzo di storia antica della Genova industriale della Val Polcevera. Oggi non esistono più ma ci fu un tempo che potevi camminare sui prati degli argini del fiume omonimo insieme alle pecore e avevi davanti le grandi torri della raffineria ERG. Facevano parte del paesaggio con lo sfondo del Santuario della Madonna della Guardia.
Perchè non esistono più? Perchè dagli anni ’90 è cominciata l’esigenza di una maggior attenzione all’aspetto ambientale e alla qualità della vita delle persone che vivevano in queste aree. Tutta la zona è stata quindi convertita in insediamenti a prevalenza commerciale, residenziale e di distribuzione logistica.
L’aria è oggi più pulita? É migliorata la qualità della vita? Qualcuno della zona può rispondere direttamente…
In questa terra è coltivato il vitigno dal quale si produce il vino Bianchetta ottimo con le acciughe, la torta pasqualina. Ma più ancora con lo stoccafisso con le favette (i bacilli) piatto molto conosciuto grazie alla canzone dei Trilli, il famoso gruppo folk musicale ligure:
“T’ho dïto che t’a prepari/o stocchefisce e bacilli/a gongorzola co-i grilli/e ûn bottigion de vin bon e invece ti m’æ preparou/a menestrinn-a co-e êuve/a fà ciû fïto scì a chêuxe/ma o l’è ûn mangiâ do belin”
(Ti ho detto di preparare/lo stoccafisso con i bacilli/la gorgonzola con i grilli/e un bottiglione di vino buono e invece tu mi hai preparato/la minestrina con le uova/si cuoce più in fretta/ma è un mangiare che non va bene)
A piece of ancient history of Genoa refinery plants from the industrial era in the Polcevera valley. Today they are no more here but there was a time that you could walk along the Polcevera river of the together with the sheep and looking at the great towers of the ERG refinery. They were part of the landscape with the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Guardia in the background.
Why they are no more there? Because in the 90s began the need for a better environment and quality of life for people living there and the whole area had a complete new restyiling mainly as a commercial area. Is the air cleaner today? Is the quality of life imporved? Someone in the area can reply directly …

Beppe Gambetta (chitarrista genovese a livello internazionale), ha intitolato questa Acoustic Night, iniziata ieri sera 6/5/2015 al Teatro Stabile di Genova, “Italians Americans” (un’idea di sua moglie Federica Calvino Prina). Ospiti musicisti di grande talento: Kathy Mattea, Frank Vignola e Vinny Raiolo discendenti degli italiani emigrati in America con la loro musica le storie delle fatiche dei loro avi. Uno spettacolo vederli suonare insieme. Il quadro di scena di quest’anno di Sergio Bianco rapresenta un soffione, il fiore che con un soffio si sparge nell’aria a simboleggiare i musicisti che con la loro musica diffondono, tra le molte altre cose, cultura e storia nel mondo.
Beppe Gambetta (guitarist Genoese internationally known), he has called this Acoustic Night, which started last night 05/06/2015 at Teatro Stabile di Genova, “Italians Americans” (an idea of his wife Federica Calvino Prina). Guests musicians are very talented descendants of Italian emigrants to America with their music stories of the hard life and work of their ancestors. A very fascinating show to see them play together. The background artwork of this year is by Sergio Bianco is representing the flower that a breath scatters in the air to symbolize the musicians which with their music spread, among many other things, culture and history around the world.
Si definiscono “Avanguardia musicale e Visual Art” e loro sono alcuni dei componenti del Duplex Ride un’associazione cuturale di ricercatori in diversi campi musicali ed artistici.
Una pomeriggo interessante a Villa Croce (Genova), nell’ambito della rassegna “Modern Ride” curata da Marco Cacciamani.
…Forse in futuro tutta la storia affascinante… ma a volte anche inquietante… della discoteca Domina ovvero di quello che fu il tempio della musica elettronica… house… dj..techno… ma non solo… immersa in uno scenario – paesaggio mozzafiato…

Al Fim abbiamo assistito all’interessantissima conferenza tenuta da Eddie Kramer, che fu il produttore ed ingegnere del suono di Hendrix, ma non solo, anche di David Bowie, dei Led Zeppelin, dei Rolling Stones, etc. ed eccezionalmente di due pezzi dei Beatles.
Eddie Kramer è stato ospite quest’anno al FIM – Fiera Internazionale della Musica, a Genova dove è stato premiato come“Best Studio Sound Engineer”.
Si devono infatti a lui alcuni grandi successi per i quali realizzo’ effetti speciali e molto innovativi per l’epoca.
L’emozione che ho provato nell’ascoltare il racconto di questo 71enne magro e molto in forma, dalla vita piena ed entusiasmante, col suo meraviglioso inglese (prontamente tradotto dall’interprete accanto a lui), corredato da una ricca proiezione di diapositive rigorosamente d’epoca, non si può descrivere! Abbiamo ammmirato praticamente uno show sulla storia del rock (di cui egli è stato uno dei grandi protagonisti durante un arco di tempo durato oltre 50 anni), la sua grande collezione di foto tratte da Woodstock, abbiamo ascoltato gli aneddoti sulla sua amicizia col grande Jimi, lo abbiamo visto ritratto giovane a lavorare con i suoi mixers e registratori a 4, 8, 32 tracce… con tutti questi grandi artisti ed abbiamo ascoltato battute e commenti, oltre a brani delle canzoni che tutti amiamo.
Con i Beatles, in particolare, registrò a Londra “All you need is love” e “Baby you’re a rich man”. Pensare ed immaginare la sua esperienza con loro, per dei fan dei Beatles, può essere veramente un’esperienza unica!
Alla fine dello show ci siamo sono complimentati con lui e, dato che ha confessato di apprezzare molto la nostra pizza, Rita gli ha augurato buon appetito e divertimento in Italia, nonchè di proseguimento di carriera, visto che intende realizzare presto nuovi progetti.

At Fim we partecipated to the interesting lecture by Eddie Kramer, who was the producer and sound engineer for Hendrix, but not only, even for David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, etc.. and exceptionally for two Beatles’s songs.
Eddie Kramer was a guest at this year’s FIM – International Fair of Music, in Genoa, where he was awarded as the “Best Studio Sound Engineer”.
Infact, some of the great successes for which he realized special very innovative effects for its time are due to him.
You can not describe the emotion I felt listening to the story of this 71 year old, slim and very fit gentleman, with a full and exciting life, speaking a wonderful English (readily translated by the interpreter next to him), accompanied by an extensive slide show with photos of the era! We practically admired a show about the history of rock (of which he was one of the great men behind a period that lasted over 50 years old), his large collection of photos from Woodstock, we heard anecdotes about his friendship with great Jimi, we saw a young portrait of him working with his mixers and 4, 8, 32 tracks tape recorders, … we listened to jokes and comments, as well as tracks of the songs that we all love.
With the Beatles, in particular, he recorded “All you need is love” and “Baby you’re a rich man” in London. Thinking and imagining his experience with them, for Beatles fans can be a truly unique experience!
At the end of the show we complimented with him and, as he confessed he is very fond of our pizza, Rita wished him good appetite and fun in Italy, as well as the continuation of his career, since he intends to put on new projects soon.

Quest’anno presenta le “Nuove generazioni”: ieri sera lo abbiamo ascoltato con grande entusiasmo. In questa foto Beppe è con Aoife O’Donovan famosa chitarrista e cantante, Rushad Eggleston famoso ed eclettico violoncellista e Mike Witcher famoso suonatore di dobro (o chitarra resofonica). Un’emozione vederli suonare e cantare insieme. Un momento particolarmente gradito è stata l’esecuzione della mitica “Turn! Turn! Turn” con musica di Pete Seeger su parole dell’Ecclesiaste (dalla Bibbia) resa famosa ai tempi dei Beatles dai Byrds come raccontiamo a pagina 36 del nostro libro “MEMORIE BEATLESIANE e dintorni”.

The famous famous Genoese guitar virtuoso and singer and Beppe Gambetta and now an international star folk/country inspired , every year always brings to Genoa, for his Acoustic Nights, new and interesting guests.
This year he presents the “New Generations”: last night we listened to them with great enthusiasm. This photo pictures him with Aoife O’Donovan famous guitarist and singer, Rushad Eggleston famous and eclectic cellist and Mike Witcher, famous dobro player (or resophonic guitar). It was thrill to see them play and sing together. A particularly pleasing moment was the performance of the legendary “Turn! Turn! Turn” with music by Pete Seeger and words from Ecclesiaste (from the Bible) made famous at the Beatles times by the Byrds as we explain on page 36 of our book “MEMORIE BEATLESIANE e dintorni”.

A volte, percorrendo il Levante della Liguria, si arriva in posti particolari come un piccolissimo e semplice cimitero abbandonato, con una storia molto interessante.
Siamo nei pressi di Favale di Malvaro e in un tranquillo boschetto tra i castagni si “narra” la storia travagliata della famiglia dei Cereghino, contadini ma anche musicisti e cantastorie della seconda metà del 1800, convertitisi al credo valdese e dei problemi che ebbero con la comunità cattolica di Favale di Malvaro.
Il luogo, molto picccolo ma significativo, ha consegnato questa famiglia alla storia anche perchè narra dell’amore tra Giuseppe Cereghino morto a 24 anni, e di Caterina Costa. Siccome non volevano seguire la fede cattolica il parroco di allora Don Cristoforo Repetti non volle sposarli, li osteggiò ed essendo andati a vivere insieme chiamò i carabinieri che li imprigionarono, nella torre di Chiavari per condotta immorale e cospirazione religiosa. Oggi sembra paradossale ma i tempi erano quelli. Furono però liberati poco dopo grazie addirittura all’intervento di un decreto del re di allora Carlo Alberto. Questo fatto fu però fatale a Giuseppe che mori dopo pochi mesi.
Conosciuti con il soprannome di Scialìn Andrea, Stefano, Antonio e Giovanni e Giuseppe Cereghino in inverno emigravano con le loro storie musicate verso il Piemonte e la Lombardia. In uno dei loro viaggi arrivarono a Torre Pellice dove iniziarono ad appassionarsi a quello che predicava la comunità Valdese e che si basava sulla Bibbia. Tornati a Favale cominciarono a parlare ai loro compaesani dove trovarono diverse persone che li ascoltarono. Costruirono così una chiesa (oggi è proprietà privata ma il proprietario ha avuto il grande pregio di ristrutturarla il minimo necessario e mantenendo allo stato originale gli ambienti) dove Stefano Cereghino venne nominato pastore e arrivando ad avere fino a oltre 110 fedeli.
Le loro canzoni sono tornate ad essere suonate grazie alla scoperta dei fogli originali da parte dei musicisti de “Il Gruppo” che ne hanno eseguito diverse ballate e che sono suonate anche dal gruppo “La Rionda”, che per alcune versioni è affiancato da Max Manfredi, rendendole ancora più suggestive.
Il posto merita la visita anche perchè è incastonato nei boschi in località Castello nella bella valle di Malvaro in Fontanabuona con la cornice dei monti Pagliaro tra i torrenti Arena e Castello e nei pressi del monte Ramaceto sull’Alta Via dei Monti Liguri.
Se ci andate fatelo con il dovuto rispetto dovuto a questi luoghi e se credete in qualcosa, qualsiasi sia il vostro credo, un piccolo pensiero potrà forse essere di conforto alle traversie che hanno dovuto passare.
Fortunatamente e finalmente nel gennaio di quest’anno Favale ha visto la posa di una targa ricordo come simbolo di “riappacificazione”.

Back in Favale began to speak to their neighbors where they found several people who listen to them. They built a church (today it is private property, but the owner had the great sensibility of decorating the minimum necessary and keeping its original state environments) where Cereghino Stefano was appointed pastor and they had more than 110 faithful.
Their songs are to be played back with the discovery of the original sheets from the musicians of “The Group” who have performed several ballads, which are also played by the group “La Rionda,” which for some versions is joined by Max Manfredi, making them even more suggestive.
The place is worth a visit because it is also nestled in the woods in the small part village named Castle in the beautiful valley of Malvaro in Fontanabuona with the back of the mountain Pagliaro, between the rivers Arena and Castle and near Mount Ramaceto along the Ligurian Mountains High Way.
If you go there, do it with the due respect to these places and if you believe in something, whatever your beliefs, a little thought will perhaps be of comfort to the hardships that they had to go.
Fortunately and finally in January of this year Favale saw the laying of a plaque as a symbol of “reconciliation”.

Ultimo ma non meno importante un loro cd ha viaggiato nello spazio con Franco Malerba il primo astronauta italiano. L’attuale formazione è composta da Massimo Morini – voce e tastiera, Davide Ageno – chitarra e voce, Nino Cancilla – basso elettrico, Gianni Casella – voce, Danilo Straulino – batteria, Federica Saba – voce, Massimo Bosso – testi e voce, cori e produzione, Maurizio Borzone – violino, tastiere, tromba, fisarmonica, bandrillon, Giorgia Vassallo – voce. Il Commodore 64 compie 30 anni. Fu nel 1982 che, al CES di Las Vegas venne presentato – dall’inventore Jack Tramiel (informatico polacco nato a Lodz nel 1928 e naturalizzato statunitense – un computer a 8 Bit che avrebbe iniziato le vendite dall’agosto al prezzo di 600 dollari circa. In Italia cominciò a trovarsi in vendita a fine 1982/inizio 1983 a 1 milione di lire circa.

Più di un internauta avrà iniziato il suo rapporto da amatore informatico, ma anche forse lavorativo, con questo pc. Qualcuno avrà ancora in qualche cassetto le cassette che si usavano sul lettore “mangiacassette” dedicato (che in molti casi era il “solito” Philips che quasi tutti avevano in casa. Poi, venne l'”avanzato” lettore di FD da 5 1/4″.
Io ho regalato tutto ma ricordo bene i primi preventivi di lavoro fatti con lo “spreadsheet” o l'”elaboratore testi” o le prove con i listati in codice Basic per fargli fare qualcosa di più. Il tutto partiva con i comandi “”Load…press play on tape…run” e poi stampato sui fogli perforati utilizzati dalle stampanti ad aghi. La maggior parte degli utenti però lo usava per i videogames di “Pac-man” o “Mario Bros”.
Il Commodore è il computer che ha avuto maggior fama nella storia, anche perchè i concorrenti si contavano sulla dita di una mano (Atari, Apple…) ma soprattutto perchè aveva il miglior rapporto qualità prezzo. Era dotato di “ben” 64Kb di RAM (che diventatavno poi 35/40 free), una capacità considerata grande per l’epoca ma ovviamente ridicola per gli standard anche di un telefonino di oggi. Raggiunse il record di vendita, a tutt’oggi imbattuto, di 17 milioni di unità.
Poi usci, e lo comprai, il 128. Era molto più bello con un design elegante, ma il “feeling” non era più lo stesso.
Nel 2010 è “rinato” ovviamente con componenti più aggiornati ma la concorrenza è ormai agguerrita e diversificata e la storia, negli anni a venire, sarà diversa.
Sul web si trovano ancora programmi ed emulatori e’ non è solo una questione di nostalgia se qualcuno come la “C64 Orchestra” o il gruppo rock danese dei “Press play on Tape” suona oggi brani che si ispirano all’effetto, per alcuni quasi “ipnotico”, delle musichette degli antichi “giochini” o effetti “speciali”.

Un po’ di storia…
“… Fu nel 1975 che venne immesso sul mercato il primo computer a livello di personal grazie all’Altair, subito seguita da Radio Shack e Commodore, ma costavano ancora migliaia di dollari, una cifra non proprio alla portata di tutti.
Nel 1978, circa quando risiedevo e lavoravo in Inghilterra, l’ufficio di progettazione dove lavoravo acquistò una stazione di lavoro CAD (Computere Aided Design – Progettazione assistita da calcolatore) molto grande, complessa e molto costosa. Il computer era ancora solo per le grosse e medie società. Tornato in Italia constatai che quasi nessuno era al corrente di questa “rivoluzione” che stava per investire tutti, ma sarebbe stato così solo per poco tempo ancora.
Il primo grande passo avanti in questo senso avviene grazie a Steve Jobs, un 18enne, universitario mancato, figlio adottivo, vagabondo, appassionato di meditazione trascendentale e degli Hare Krishna, amante della musica dei Beatles, lavoratore part time all’Atari (allora compagnia di video giochi) ma snobbato perchè pieno di idee eccentriche. Fa un viaggio in India e quando torna in California conosce Stephen Wozniak e fonda la Apple con l’obiettivo di fare un personal computer alla portata di tutti”…
Ma questa è tutta un’altra storia, arrivata fino ai giorni nostri…

On the Web there are still programs and emulators, and ‘is not just a matter of nostalgia as if someone like “C64 Orchestra” or the Danish rock band “Press Play on Tape” today play songs that are inspired by the effect, for some almost “hypnotic”, of the tunes of the old “toys ” with their “special” effects.

A little ‘ history …

The BEATBOX Beatles Tribute Band from Italy – Photos of The Beatbox Genoa concert held on the 7th of December 2011 held in the Gilberto&Rina Govi theatre. The BEATBOX are one of the best Beatles tribute band in Italy. Their concerts are not a “nostalgic revisitation” of years of the past but the joy and skill of the era of the fabulous 60’s, with their enthusiasm and positivity. The years during which the Beatles have been the best not only in music but also in fashion and costume. Un’amica, Lilli, lontana da anni da Genova, ascolta la canzone “Inverno” di Fabrizio de Andrè e mi scrive:
…”amo tutte le canzoni di De Andrè e penso che siano indimenticabili, vera poesia!!!
Ho visto le tue foto sono molto belle…I nostri monti aspri e ventosi…ma la cosa più bella, che mi manca di più, è l’orizzonte. Quando sono andata a vivere a Milano c’era qualcosa che mi opprimeva più del caos della città, più del rumore, del grigiore e della solitudine: era la mancanza di prospettiva, la chiusura dell’orizzonte visivo che si esauriva nella fuga di un viale, nelle masse dei palazzi, nel circolo di una piazza. Era come stare in una scatola e non vedere fuori. Ero abituata, nella nostra ariosa Genova, a un cambio continuo delle prospettive e a spaziare lontanissimo con lo sguardo verso il mare…Puoi camminare chiuso nei vicoli aspettando il momento in cui scorgi l’azzurro, puoi appostarti sugli scogli per sentire messaggi portati dal vento, puoi arrampicarti su qualche bricco per avere la città ai tuoi piedi e davanti l’infinito..e ti senti libero…per un momento…”

un cambio continuo delle prospettive
lo spaziare lontanissimo con lo sguardo verso il mare.
Il camminare chiuso nei vicoli
aspettando il momento in cui scorgi l’azzurro,
l’appostarti sugli scogli per sentire
i messaggi portati dal vento,
l’arrampicarti su qualche bricco per avere
la città ai tuoi piedi
e davanti
l’infinito..
e ti senti libero…
per un momento…
In questo gruppo, che era proprio un gruppo di “quattro amici al bar” come dice Paoli e del quale faceva parte, c’erano anche Bruno Lauzi (nato in Eritrea, ma cresciuto a Genova) che controcorrente si definiva liberale ma da fine osservatore già scriveva allora “Arrivano i Cinesi” e la bella “Amore caro Amore bello”. Collaborò fino a poco prima di morire anche con gli attuali Buio Pesto. C’erano anche Umberto Bindi e Luigi Tenco, anche se egli era di Ricaldone in Piemonte. In misura diversa c’era anche Paolo Conte che scrisse “Genova per noi” per i piemontesi. Prima di loro già facevano parte di questo gruppo Natalino Otto ed in misura minore Joe Sentieri,.
Oggi quella vena artistica è un po’ offuscata ma ci sono dei cantatutori famosi come Ivano Fossati che continuano su questa tradizione e negli ultimi tempi si è affermato in modo importante Max Manfredi che è proprio con de Andrè alla “Fiera della Maddalena” e che proprio da lui venne designato come “erede”.
Ci sono altri a continuare la tradizione, tra questi: Federico Sirianni, Sergio Alemanno e il noto Francesco Baccini. In questo contesto hanno avuto anche grande importanza diverse band genovesi come i New Trolls o i Ricchi e Poveri e i Matia Bazar ma questa … mi sono già dilungato fin troppo… in fondo…. è un’altra storia.

I “cantautori genovesi” cantavano, già in quegli anni e quasi in sordina, il boom economico e le sue contraddizioni, il capitalismo con i suoi valori forse non del tutto positivi, la storia, la politica, partendo dalla tradizione anche francese di protesta sul “grotesque” (Brassens) o affidandosi alla vena malinconico-intimistica del grande Leonard Cohen (Suzanne con Giovanna d’Arco lato-B traduzione “Joan of Arc”1972, It seems so Long Ago) o la protesta di Dylan.
Io abitavo allora a pochi decine di metri di distanza dalla sua casa, dove provava le canzoni accompagnandosi con la chitarra. Una cara amica di allora mi descrisse, con fare un pò sorpreso, questi “suoni” che provenivano dal “vicino” della sua abitazione. Certo allora, non immaginavo chi sarebbe diventato anche se io avevo già comprato qualche suo LP che, essendo allora studente, mi costavano un capitale. Altro che mp3 in “free” download!
Negli anni 60, quando l’Inghilterra (ma non solo), impazziva per i Beatles, a Genova si affermava la cosiddetta “scuola dei cantautori genovesi”.
Questo termine era stato dato ad un gruppo di giovani appassionati di Genova, della città, delle sue strade, dei suoi abitanti e delle sue cose. Con pregi e difetti.
Questi giovani volevano fare i “cantatutori” ed alcuni ci riuscirono bene, anzi si può ben dire che tra questi c’era quello che sarebbe diventato poi il più famoso, il più bravo, il più amato: Fabrizio De Andrè (non me ne vogliano i Gucciniani che lo metto subito dopo… ma venne anche dopo…) oggi oggetto di tesi, studio nelle scuole, quasi “beatificato”.
Chissà se a lui sarebbe poi piaciuto.
Da quel gruppo sarebbe anche venuto fuori uno dei più grandi comici: l’attore-autore Paolo Villaggio, che con De Andrè scrisse da giovane la “goliardica” e per allora un pò “azzardata” canzone di Carlo Martello (Volume I, 1967, Carlo Martello Ritorna Dalla Battaglia Di Poitiers) che arriverà, sempre attuale, fino ai giorni nostri.
La “Bocca di rosa” che ben altro scandalo (per allora) avrebbe poi creato era sempre di quell’anno.
Genova era insomma una fucina di talenti, chissà forse sarà stata l’aria del mare.
