Il mito dei Pink Floyd rivivrà a Pompei in una mostra… attraverso immagini e suoni…

“…A novembre fu la volta dei Pink Floyd! Si trattava del British Winter Tour del 1974 al Wembley Empire Pool. Come resistere ad una simile occasione? All’epoca, e negli anni precedenti, ascoltavamo soprattutto questa musica così innovativa e non stavamo più in noi dalla gioia di ascoltarli live. Prendemmo il biglietto come al solito, spedendo le sterline nella busta e ricevendoli quasi subito i (la Royal Mail funzionava anche in mezza giornata). Sul biglietto da noi conservato, leggo Row 0, seat 18, ed era la seconda entrata, di sopra in galleria, comunque si vedeva ed ascoltava benissimo. Fin dal percorso in metropolitana notavo la differenza tra il pubblico dei vari concerti: questi dei Pink Floyd erano per la maggior parte silenziosi e calmi. Nessuno aveva più di 30 anni ed il capello lungo e l’abbigliamento pittoresco erano d’ordinanza….”

How to resist such an opportunity? … We took the ticket as usual, sending the money in the envelope and receiving them almost immediately (the Royal Mail worked in half a day). From the walk on the subway I noticed the difference in the audience of the various concerts: these Pink Floyd guys were for the most part silent and calm. A TASTE OF CAMPANIA

La Campania è una bella regione. Purtroppo le cronache e i molti luoghi comuni non le fanno onore e offuscano un grande passato, sconosciuto a molti.
Molte similitudini la accomunano alla Liguria in primis quelle tra i due capoluoghi Genova e Napoli con i loro porti e le loro storie mercantili e le due coste quella Ligure di levante e quella sorrentina-amalfitana.
Leggendo alcuni libri si può apprendere che:
– Napoli, al tempo dei Borboni e il Regno delle Due Sicile, è stata la prima città al mondo ad avere l’acqua nelle case
– Napoli era tra le prime città d’Europa per popolazione, seconda solo a Parigi.
– La prima galleria ferroviaria del mondo fu costruita in quella che fu anche la prima linea ferroviaria in Italia, la Napoli-Portici
– A Napoli viene installata la prima illuminazione a gas.
– Anche il primo esperimento con l’energia elettrica in Italia avvenne in Campania a Capodimonte.
– La flotta borbonica ebbe la prima nave a vapore sulla rotta Napoli-Palermo, primi nel mediterraneo e quarti nel mondo.
– Fu sempre da Napoli che partì la prima nave linea Palermo-New york, un piroscafo ad elica con tre alberi.
etc. etc e si potrebbe continuare….

Campania is a beautiful region. Unfortunately, the news and many clichés do not do certain honor and a great past obscure, unknown to many.

Luoghi Abbandonati POMPEI LA CITTA’ SEPOLTA

Pompei è tornata alla luce, a seguito di alcuni ritrovamenti nel XIX secolo, dopo essere scomparsa per secoli sommersa da ceneri, lava e lapilli eruttati dal Vesuvio nel 79 d.C. (eruzione che colpì anche Ercolano, Stabia e altri centri minori). Fu proprio per questa causa che oggi può testimoniare la vita antica nonostante siano passati quasi due millenni e diventando così il sito archeologico più importante del mondo. Ovviamente non basta un giorno per la visita all’antica città romana alle case, ai templi, alle terme, al lupanare, alle taverne, alle ville, ai mosaici, agli affreschi etc..
Percorrendo i suoi grandi viali lastricatie le sue piazze si può ben immaginare la vita di allora le usanze e i costumi per arrivare infine all’anfiteatro usato per gli incontri dei famosi gladiatori e reso celebre, in tempi più moderni, dall’atmosfera e dalla musica dei mitici Pink Floyd nel 1971.

Pompei came to light, with som discoveries started in XIX century, after being missing for centuries, buried under ash, lava and lapilli erupted from Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD (the eruption also hit Ercolano, Stabia and other minor villages).
